In the Old Testament, young David was called to play his lyre to soothe the troubled mind of King Saul, calming the “evil spirits” that plagued him. Generations later, in the New Testament, just before He ascended the Mount of Olives to pray and perform the most supreme act of love and suffering, Jesus—the Son of David—sang a hymn with His disciples (Matthew 26:30).

These sacred moments, along with my own personal experiences, have cemented a few powerful truths in my heart:

• Music is a divine gift. It heals, empowers, and sustains us—not only during our personal Gethsemanes, but also in the ordinary moments of daily life. It offers spiritual nourishment and inspiration exactly when we need it most.

• Music connects us. It links us to our Creator and to each other—through listening, sharing, and singing together in ways that can uplift the individual and the collective all at once.

• Music speaks beyond words. It sharpens our minds and helps us process emotion through its unique power to communicate what language alone cannot.

One of my greatest joys is to create and participate in music that touches the soul. My hope is that the musical messages I offer will be a blessing to you—and a source of comfort and hope for anyone navigating the challenges of mental illness, neurodiversity, or the sacred work of loving someone who does.
